Mike has more than 35 years of experience in financial management. His previous roles included serving as a manager and eventually partner for payroll service company HK Payroll Services, Inc.; serving as the controller and as a board member for a Quad Cities cabinet manufacturing company; and serving as the client accounting services manager for a Top 10 Midwest CPA firm.
As COO of Honkamp Payroll, Mike specializes in the strategic and operational management of payroll processing and payroll tax payments for a growing number of businesses. He leads a customer-driven team offering a robust workforce management platform for today’s market.

Mike and his wife, Tina, have been married for 30 years. They have two children, Emily and Matthew; a son-in-law, Jakub; and two grandchildren, Benjamin and Jude. Mike enjoys biking, hiking and reading, as well as spending time with family.
